NPHS Yearbook

Description:

Yearbook is a unique experience at Newbury Park High School. What drives this course is a single, cooperative, large-scale, full year project. In addition to design, layout, digital imaging, and creative writing skills, students learn the fundamentals of management including allocation of resources, teaming, scheduling and project management. Marketing, advertising and budgeting are all key components of a successful Yearbook class.

The 2010-2011 Yearbook will be our most ambitious ever. We want to 'tell the story' of NPHS as the Digital Age changes the way we teach, learn and socially interact. Be on the lookout for QR Codes posted on campus for more details.

Friends and parents will be glad to know we are continuing our policy of PDAs (Personal Displays of Affection). Anyone can design and submit their own custom page (or partial page) honoring the Senior student of your choice. This is a wonderful way to make a Senior's Yearbook that much more memorable.

The yearbook is scheduled for delivery in early June. The delivery time and subsequent release to the NPHS population is entirely dependent on the meeting of deadlines. The meeting of deadlines is entirely dependent on the yearbook student staff. Therefore, the yearbook is always searching for the more RELIABLE staff members who are willing to put in the time and work necessary to meet the deadlines. Currently there are about thirty staff members working to complete the approximately 60 pages per month we need to send to Walsworth in order to have the book finished on time (final deadline goes to the plant the second week in April 2011).

Parents, many universities consider Yearbook to be one of the most desirable extracurricular activities due to the length of commitment, scope of project and need for cooperative interaction.

Please Note: Yearbook welcomes student and staff contributions of ideas, pictures, poetry, art and special guest copy passages. Selection of submitted material will be determined by current needs and if it will meet the deadline set for that particular subject matter.

Questions and comments regarding the yearbook can be e-mailed to Ted Warfield (twarfield@conejo.k12.ca.us) or put in his mailbox in the office.
