Amnesty International

Amnesty International is the world's largest organization dedicated to the improvement of human rights. It is totally committed to improving the human condition through non-violent campaigns. Amnesty International helps all unjustly held prisoners regardless of race, creed, or gender, and does not have any political agenda. It is a non-profit volunteer organization. Group Chapters, like ours at NPHS, receive information about some of the most serious cases of injustice around the globe. These stories about various 'Prisoners of Conscience' are converted into letters of protest and signed by members. The letters often result in the release of unfairly held prisoners. Sometimes innocent people are saved from torture and execution. We write and sign our letters with these hopes in mind.
